Aquastar was founded in 1990 by its Managing Director, initially as a specialist waterbed manufacturer. Starting from a small joinery workshop in the North West of England, the business grew steadily into one of the UK’s largest waterbed manufacturers, a significant achievement for an independent company operating in a niche market.
As the company expanded, our founder reinvested every profit back into the business, purchasing increasingly advanced manufacturing machinery that would prove to be the foundation of everything that followed. Around ten years ago, it became clear that the industrial flat-panel machines powering Aquastar’s waterbed production could manufacture virtually any furniture product with equal precision. When enquiries for commercial washroom cubicles began to arrive, the move into cubicle manufacturing was a natural one, driven by market demand rather than any grand strategy.
That willingness to evolve has defined Aquastar ever since. Today, we are a specialist manufacturer of toilet cubicles, shower cubicles, vanity units, changing rooms, lockers, and accessible facilities, supplying architects, main contractors, fit-out specialists, and facilities managers across the UK and internationally. We are proud of what this business has grown into: a versatile, progressive manufacturer that never stands still.
We have traded through multiple recessions and navigated the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic without compromise. That resilience is no accident, it is the direct result of never limiting ourselves to a single product or market, and always being willing to invest in the capability to do more.
